CAPTAINS REPORT 10/26

The perch bite continues from Avon, Lorain, Vermilion and Huron with fish ranging to 14 inchers.  Perch caught out of Vermilion 3 to 8 miles out has been excellent. Just look for the pack of boats and you can't go wrong. Many fisherman are reporting good catches with no marks on the fish finder screens apparently the fish are hugging the bottom.  I set my Raytheon screen in the bottom zoom mode and a setting of 4x to get the best look at the bottom as possible. Walleyes continue to be caught around the Huron dump using crank baits but the numbers are still down compared to previous years. The water temperature is still running in the 57 degree area and as it cools more the walleye fishing should improve hopefully after this storm goes through next Tuesday. Pulling the boat around the 15th of November depending on the weather. See you on the water!
