After fishing Gull Shoal last Tuesday and only pulling 10 walleyes moved Friday to east of the Vermilion weather buoy and fished with Dan Dolye and friends. Pulled 36 walleyes that weighed over 125 lbs. with the largest fish at 30 inches. Excellent day! Spoons pulled white bass and peach so a switch was made to all harnesses. Green/orange and green/red beads with orange and green tapped willow leaf blades produced the most fish. Ran a north south direction with speeds of 1.7 to 1.9 knots. Used 40 Tru-Trips with leads of 80, 90 and 100 feet. Lost of bait fish in the area and marked lost of perch. Fish are usually in this area every year at this time but the down size is the cost to run this area. See you on the water!
