FIRST 2013 WALLEYE TRIP WEST OF CATAWBA VIDEO
WEST OF CATAWBA
Fished today west of Catawba State Park finished at 1:30 with 13 fish that averaged 5.5 lbs and the largest at 29 inches. All fish were taken on Husky Jerks while running between 1.1 to 1.3 knots. Best colors were blue chrome, barbie and pink lemonade. The water was stained pretty bad surprised we were able to do as well as we did. Another front coming tonight with west winds approaching 25 knots, waves 3 to 5 in the morning. Not sure where we will fish tomorrow. See you on the water!

WBSA/LEWT WALLEYE TOURNAMENT
The Lakevue tournament was held yesterday and congratulations to MICHAEL DOORNICK and DAVID PONTIUS for winning first place with 36.9 lbs. The biggest fish of the tournament was 9.82 lbs caught by team RANDY EYRE and DANIEL WOODWARD. As any one knows, who fished yesterday, it was a cold and rough day of fishing with only five teams out of a field of fifty boats managing to check in five fish. Charter captains also reported a slow day yesterday with no fish to only three fish caught. The winds Friday and Saturday sure played havoc on the walleye fishing. Warmer temperatures and winds this week should make an improvement in the catch. See you on the water!

CAPTAINS REPORT 4/19 WIND, WIND, AND MORE WIND....
Will this wind ever stop. Cancelled and rescheduled two trips this week due to weather conditions. Received reports earlier this week that the jig bite was slower but fish were taken off of Cone, Locust and trollers were catching in the area of D can, between South Bass and Green and just south of Middle Island. Purple jigs continue to dominate the jig bite along with green and chartreuse while trollers are using hand painted Husky Jerks and Reef Runners. See you on the water!
